15. Hebrews 4 also instructs us to live the Faith-Rest Life.

16. Coming short of the faith- rest life is the life of the foolish believer described in Heb 12:15 as coming short of the Grace of God.

17. It means you are not applying His Word to your life; no faith-resting in His person and Word, which results in all kinds of mental, verbal and overt sins.

18. It is one thing to learn the Word of God but it is entirely something else to apply Gods Word. Application is the key, (i.e., mixing it with faith!)

19. Believed, Aorist, Active of PISTEUO, πιστε ω : to believe or entrust – to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, or place confidence in.

20. 1. Do you believe Gods Word to be true?

22. 3. Are you persuaded by it in your every day life, and therefore act upon it?

23. 4. Do you give higher credit to God and His Word or give more credit to the situations in your life. Are you more occupied with them than with God and His Word?

24. 5. Do you place 100% confidence in Bible Doctrine? Is your confidence in God immoveable or do you doubt?

25. Rom 4:20-22, Yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. 22 Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness.

26. 2 Cor 5:7, We walk by faith (the Faith-Rest Drill) and not by sight (human viewpoint).

27. We must have Gods Word resident within our souls and absolutely and undoubtingly believe in what it says, Rom 10:17, Faith comes by hearing (+ volition) and hearing by the word of Christ.

28. The Contrast!

29. The Contrast! But a fool displays folly.

30. The imprudent believer has no faith-rest because they have chosen to not learn or not apply Gods Word. They are left with their own ways, motivated from their sin nature, to try to solve their problems.

31. They are left without true strength and happiness, and are filled with counterfeit and pseudo forms of strength and happiness that are temporary at best and always fleeting.

32. God does not want His children to be in that predicament. That is why He stresses over and over again to live the faith-rest life. Cf. Mark 9:14-29

33. 1 John 5:13-15, These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
