Children learn about colours and what happens when they mix them together. They can explore different textures and techniques. They also develop their fine motor skills.

4. Construction Children learn about shape, space and measures when
choosing blocks for a
purpose and solving
practical problems.
Children can also use
their imaginations to
create their own
stories using props.

5. Role Play and Small World
When children are pretending, they develop their language and imaginative skills. They also cooperate, share and take turns when playing with others.

6. Exploring Materials
By placing and creating patterns with different materials, children can explore space and shape. By using scissors and other tools, they also develop their coordination and fine motor skills.

7. Clay Children develop their finger and upper body muscles as
they mould and sculpt the
clay. They also learn about
changes to materials and how
to use tools to create
different effects.
