1 Day 2 Simple linear inequalities

2 Introduction More often, we encounter constraints in our budget, time and even limits within which some things should be done. We rarely relate this to linear inequalities. If these activities could be modeled into linear inequalities, it would be easier to address such problems. In today's lesson, we are going to introduce ourselves to the basics of linear inequalities by creating them from simple day to day context.

3 These are mostly inequalities whose limit is a point or a line.
Vocabulary: Inequalities Are operations relating two quantities or items that are not necessarily equal. Linear inequalities These are mostly inequalities whose limit is a point or a line. This can be done in the notebooks or on vocabulary cards. Whatever system you use 

6 Formation of simple inequalities
We would like to form simple inequalities from statements.

7 Example 1 The a school examination board requires that one should not take more than 2 hours in an examinations and should sit at least 1 and half hours in an examination.

8 Think of an activity in your group that has to be done within the specified schedule. For instance, consider a situation where we have to go to the field for a 20 minutes’ practical. Everything should be done within 20 minutes. Get a ball and two students, Evelyn and Andrew. Let them be 50 meters apart with Evelyn holding the ball. Let her run with the ball to Andrew’s position and back.
