Everyone has a distinct figure that made us as a result of out genes.
We can sometimes change our figure through body modification, tattoos, cardio, and body building but no matter what we are it’s strictly ours.

Artists have been drawing figures for centuries
Artists have been drawing figures for centuries. It took many years to master the art of realism. It didn’t just happen over night.

Assignment: Create a drawing showing what your figure would look like in a different time period. Criteria: 1. Must show your entire figure in proportion (Don’t necessarily have to show the face though) 2. Must show the chosen decade’s environment (Choose one from my list and research more about it with worksheet) 3. Show the style of the time period. 4. Medium chosen can be your choice but should enhance your idea with clean craftsmanship, including black and white.
10
When we draw a figure, using circles and ovals help create body parts and proportions. Start with fewer details and slowly add on.
11
Practice Gesture Drawing
Draw 5 figures using the circle technique. Sketches should be fast and messy. Materials needed: Pencils and Erasers from your plastic storage box
12
Artist Statement Questions:
What is your decade and why did you choose to put yourself in that decade? How does your drawing’s environment represent your time in history? How does your figure’s appearance represent your decade/era? Anything else that should be addressed in writing that tells us more.
