1 How to use your Project Portfolio
Extended Project Unit 8

2 The Project Portfolio You will be submitting all the work for your Unit 8 – Extended Project via the Portfolio. You will cut and paste your work from your word documents into the relevant chapters of the Portfolio or write directly in the portfolio document itself. You will keep your blogs intact (as back up).

3 What does it look like? It is located on my blog ( please check Alma’s and Greg’s blog posts regularly). Let’s run through it now……

4 Recap If words are in red it is guidance and examples how to approach tasks. Once you have completed your portfolio you need to delete the text that it is in red or if it is highlighted. Your portfolio needs to showcase your work only.

5 Ownership and Responsibility!
You have to read the Portfolio from front to back – you need to know it! It is your responsibility to ensure that the Portfolio demonstrates your work on the project to the best of your ability. You need to personalise your portfolio, so that it speaks you and your project. Make it fun to look at as well as to read. The portfolio needs to demonstrate your creative journey so be creative with it as a document as well.

6 Housekeeping When you have completed a chapter, ensure you remove all the guidance notes (text in red or highlighted text) – you must only submit your own work. When you have completed a chapter ensure that the headings are statements not questions – Why is it important? Should now read – Why it is important.

7 Housekeeping continues
Every time you finish for the day, you must update the Contents page. You do this by: A) Go to the contents page B) Highlight it C) Right click – update table comes up D) And click on – update whole table – this keeps the Portfolio in order!

8 Saving your work When you have loaded your work into the Portfolio you save it as Draft 1 (with the date) and load that onto your blog. When you add more work, you save it is Draft 2 (with the date) and save it again on your blog.

9 Important Information
DO NOT JUST SAVE your document – That stops you then having a Draft 1, Draft 2 etc. You need Draft 1, Draft 2 versions, because A) UAL Like it! B) It acts as back up C) It shows your development ALWAYS SAVE AS – this then demands a name!

10 Don’t forget Even though, this is your personal project we are with you on your journey. All media staff is there to help you and guide you to achieve the best you possibly can.
