1 SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES

2 RECAP OF OUR LAST STUDY From our last study, entitled “Believers’ Duty to The Fallen”, we learnt that as Christians we are not to be indifferent to the spiritual welfare of fellow brethren. Backsliding from the faith is a possibility – no eternal security. We who are steadfast should therefore be committed to restoring our fellow brethren… in the spirit of humility.

3 TODAY’S STUDY: LESSON 712: THE LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING
MEMORY VERSE: …… “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Galatians 6:7,8). TEXT: Galatians 6:6-18

4 TODAY’S STUDY (continued)
INTRODUCTION: Our study reminds us of our binding duty to support the ministry, faithful ministers and needy members of the church financially. As part of our fellowship, we are to communicate – share and distribute, be hospitable to the brethren. QUESTION 1: How is Christian giving related to fellowship? – Gal 6:10; Heb 13:16; 1 John 3:16-18

5 CHRISTIAN LIBERALITY AND WARNING AGAINST
CHRISTIAN LIBERALITY AND WARNING AGAINST SELF DECEPTION Galatians 6:6-10 As Christians, we should realise that our substance comes from God, belongs to God and must not be kept away from Him. We must be committed to giving and give for the right purpose. QUESTION 2: What should be the Christians’ proper attitude to giving? – 1 Chr 29:13,14,16,17; 2 Cor 8:1,3-5; 2 Sam 24:24

6 CHRISTIAN LIBERALITY AND WARNING AGAINST
CHRISTIAN LIBERALITY AND WARNING AGAINST SELF DECEPTION Galatians 6:6-10 QUESTION 3a: Explain the purpose of Christian giving – Mal 3:10; 2 Chr 31:10; Rom 15:25,26; Phil 4:10,17,18 QUESTION 3b: Give reasons why some people do not give for God’s work – Phil 2:21; 1 Sam 2:17; Hag 1:2

7 COMPREHENDING THE LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING Galatians 6:7,8; Gen 8:22
The law of sowing and reaping is a universal law from creation. It applies in both spiritual and physical realms. It affects sinners and saints alike. This law implies that there is a price to pay for all choices and actions. God is a just God. You will get what you give out. Although reaping may not be immediate, it will surely come. QUESTION 4: What is the law of sowing and reaping? – Gal 6:7

8 COMPREHENDING THE LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING Galatians 6:7,8; Gen 8:22
QUESTION 5: What are some life implications of the law of sowing and reaping? – Jer 17:10; Gal 6:9

9 APOSTOLIC AFFECTION AND BENEDICTION Galatians 6:11-18
In his closing remark, Apostle Paul reminded the Galatian Christians (some of whom had been misguided) of the dangers of false teachers and seducers. False teachers are merely satisfied with religious impressions without real spirituality. We should be warned! QUESTION 6: What are the characteristics of false teachers and seducers? – Mat 23:15; 2 Cor 11:13,14

10 CONCLUSION The scripture is certain: we will reap whatever we sow. How we take God’s word will determine our eternity. The reaping may not be immediate but it is certain. We should not be weary of doing good to all, especially to fellow believers. Moreover, we should beware of seducers who only show the form of religion but lack spirituality. GOD CANNOT NEITHER BE FOOLED OR MOCKED !!!
