Building on the 2015 Workshop: Synthesizing Geoscience Education Research: Where are we? What is the path forward? 2016 Community survey 2015 Group discussions on future directions and priorities of GER How should we support the GER community? How should we better support those interested in becoming GERers? How could we develop a “toolbox” for new GER workers? How should established GER workers develop their research skills? What tools do they need? What are priorities for promoting and supporting the GER community? How can we infuse GER results into educational practices? What are the metrics of student success for geoscience majors? For those taking general education geoscience courses? GER Toolbox – this week Navigating a career in GER Instruments and surveys Analysis tools Getting your education research published Conducting GER studies across institutions Translating GER results in practice

How can research in GER be advanced by the developing GER Toolbox? How can the GER Toolbox be informed by GER research priorities? GER Research Topics GER Toolbox Choose the GER topic you’d like to work on & move to that table (#1 - #8). If your group is large, divide into 2 groups. Respond to 1 or more items in toolbox list in the workspace. Report out single most urgent idea.
