Information sessions Context for the revisions to the Seniors Alert
Bringing together a number of organisations to work together. Each session also has the Supplier in attendance: an opportunity to meet, ask questions and see samples of the alarm units. Collaborative programme working with you as the voice of older people in conjunction with your supplier We want to grow the programme, 13% of the population are over 65, lots of unmet needs out there.

Eligibility criteria: now includes Over 65 living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. Means & Resource section removed New lot structure: 7 lots based on county boundaries Some minor changes to the Participant form making it easier and quicker to complete The admin fee for each Participant approval has increased to €10 and will be paid on the basis of the approval. Some changes to the Terms and Conditions Former supplier will still be covering warranty on units

Monitoring The first 12 months of monitoring for applications submitted from the 1st November will be provided for free by the scheme by the equipment supplier GSM base unit monitoring: the scheme will cover the cost of the SIM card, monitoring supplier & participant has responsibility to ensure that there is sufficient credit to operate the service. The participant pays for the cost of monitoring in subsequent years, however the price is indexed to the consumer price index which means that it will stay relatively stable for the lifetime of the contract.

Supplier changes from 1st November
Each unit will display a sticker – giving the contact details of the supplier and the community group and the installation date. Compatibility of digital networks with analogue alarm units – Consistent connectivity issues have arisen with digital providers. This has been raised with all suppliers and they are required to have protocols and procedures in place to identify these networks.

Returns: - Clean previously installed equipment, recertify and reinstall in a participant’s home with the warranty continuing for the remaining life of the unit. Disposal of equipment: disposal of faulty equipment previously supplied under earlier versions of the SAS scheme and its predecessors should this be required Supplier vehicles – correct signage i.e. branding/logo

Changeover and transition to new SAS
Suppliers will be given a four (4) week period to complete any outstanding installations that have been approved prior to the 31st October. This period expires on the 30th November Approvals which have not been installed by the above date will be re-assessed and removed from the live system.

Organisation form Organisation Form has been amended as follows:
Section 1 Question 1.11 – this is now a Mandatory field and is the “Contact Tel. no for SAS” – this number is used on the list of published Registered Organisation and also on Supplier Section 5 New Question Qu – Tick Box to confirm “We can confirm that our organisation has considered the requirements of the Garda Vetting legislation and have put in place a procedure and policy where applicable”

Participant Form Participant Form has been amended to reflect the new changes: Means or Resources This section has been removed as the form the Participant signs contains the following statement within the declaration: “I confirm that I am a person of limited means and I do not have the resources to purchase the equipment. Living Arrangements - this has been expanded to now include option Living alone for significant periods of time Carer Type of Equipment – note has been inserted to highlight “a wired connection is preferable as wireless modems are not reliable for SAS personal alarms” Organisation Declaration I have met with Participant has been amended to “I have discussed and explained the Seniors Alert Scheme to the above named person” Garda Vetting No. If your staff have been Garda vetted please insert the Garda number If your Organisation feels this is not applicable insert n/a

Admin Fee As from 1st November the admin fee has increased to €10.00
As a registered organisation you will now receive the contribution fee for all applications that are approved regardless if they are later cancelled before installation. Pobal will automatically release payment twice monthly For Participant approved to these will still be paid and released based on Installation completed

Participant Approval - Supplier email
Following approval of a Participant application the Supplier will automatically receive a notification The will contain type of equipment approved Partial PIN – this is first 5 digits of PIN Organisation Name and telephone number

Participant Approval - Supplier Notification Pobal have approved a Participant Application form from [Name of Organisation] This application has been approved for a [Type of Equipment]. A Participant Installation Record has been created partial PIN is [Partial PIN]. You should keep this number safe. You should now contact [Name of Organisation] on [Contact Tel no as per 1.11] to confirm Participant details and confirm a suitable date for installation. When contacting the Organisation please ensure you: •Confirm the Participant Installation Number (PIN) •Confirm the Type of Equipment sought for the approved installation / re-installation. All application must be installed as agreed within the framework agreement of 10 calendar days or 3 calendar days for emergency cases following receipt of approval from Pobal, and subject to agreement with all parties. Participant approval continued
An automatic will continue to be sent to you detailing: Participant Installation Number (PIN) Name & telephone number of Supplier Type of equipment participant was approved for As a registered Organisation it is your responsibility to contact the Supplier to provide Full - Participant Installation Number (PIN) Name, address & telephone number of Participant

Some Reminders Contact Details: important to keep us updated via the online portal with any changes – Contact name, telephone number, address, address of Organisation including Eircode When submitting participant applications to include the Eircode. Eircode, Ireland’s National Postcode System. An Eircode is a smart location postcode for all Irish addresses. The Eircode will identify an individual address – rural or urban and will help show exactly where it is located. To find Use the Eircode Finder on the internet to find the Eircode
