4. Objective: SWBAT demonstrate an understanding of the role of photosynthesis by identifying the process and where it takes place. SWABT demonstrate the ability to compare the organizations of cells to form structures in plants and animals by finding similarities between leaf tissue and skin tissue.

Life Science: Students know how sugar, water, and minerals are transported in a vascular plant.
Life Science: Students know plants use carbon dioxide and energy from sunlight to build molecules of sugar and release oxygen

6. What is so important about leaves anyway?????
Contain chloroplasts
Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll (the green color you see in plants)
PHOTOSYNTHESIS!!!!!!! (photo = light; synthesis = to make something)
Carbon dioxide + water + sunlight  oxygen + sugar
Sugar!!!!!!!!! Plants use sugar for energy and to make cellulose, which is a chemical that makes cell walls strong
