API S64 Scope This standard is intended to provide information on the design, installation, maintenance, testing, and operation of the diverter system and associated components. It will also provide a general overview of operating procedures. This document will change from a Recommended Practice to a Standard to both allow the inclusion of the design details and also to give more ‘weight’ to the maintenance, testing and operation requirements.

Step One: Winter 2012/Spring 2013
We discussed the possible different approaches to rewriting the document. Rather than a simple edit of the existing document we decided to include design criteria. We also agreed to include the diverter related information from API S53. Added Auxiliary Equipment.

Step Two: Summer 2013 We spent a full meeting on control system requirements and then promptly handed all of that information to API 16D. API S64 will only refer to API 16D on this topic.

Step Three: Autumn/Winter 2013
We ‘dropped’ API 16A design data into the document as a starting point for the new section. We have spent several meetings dissecting this with the aim of retaining only the appropriate details.

Step Four: (Spring 2014) Sorted the accumulated data into common headings and started removing the duplications. Reformatted the document to make reviewing easier. Discussing and reviewing.

Step Five: Summer 2014 Continue review

Step Six: Autumn 2014 Add bottom supported system information Discuss and include recommended operating procedures etc.

Step Seven: Winter 2014 Review the entire document

Step Eight: Spring 2015 Go to ballot!

Active Participants 49 People, 25 Companies (inc. 6 Contractors, 8 OEMs, 3 Operators)
