Efficiency in Acid/Base Exchange Reactions
Develop two acid-base exchange reactions such that the “H” in the “Starting compound” is chemically converted into “D” in the “Target compound” with high chemical efficiency (i.e., product formation favored). You may use any of the available acids and bases in the Stockroom below (plus the “D” derivatives), but be sure that each step of your synthesis is chemically reasonable, and that formation of products is favored. Stockroom: H2O, NH3, H3O+, NH4+, D2O, ND3, D3O+, ND4+
