Affect: Mountains caused China to be geographically isolated. Due to isolation China was protected from many foreign invasions allowing them to have a stable and prosperous society for a long time. Stability allowed China to be a world leader in technological innovation. (Gunpowder, Printing) Due to isolation China became ETHNOCENTRIC In modern world lack of cultural diffusion caused china to fall behind.

Long periods of political, social, economic stability Technological innovation Economic dominance in ancient world NEGATIVES. Ethnocentrism Lack of cultural diffusion over many years causes China to fall behind. China becomes imperialized by “Spheres of Influence” of Europeans.

4 Geographic Feature: Irregular Coastline Region: Great Britain
Affect: Enabled Britain to be a leader in trade and exploration. Protected Britain from invasion Trade benefited the British economy. Britain created a GLOBAL EMPIRE Britain was the birthplace of the industrial revolution due to their ability to import raw materials and export finished products Empowered Britain to be dominant world power.

Leader in global trade Economic strength Leader of the industrial revolution Dominant world power due to industry and trade Relatively protected from outside invasion.
