Are we winning the war on poverty?
Since 1996 the overall poverty rate in Canada has fallen from 15.7 percent to 10.8 percent in 2005. Statistics Canada states about 3.5 million people were living below the poverty line 2004 Cbcnews.ca

Subsidized Housing/ Affordable Housing Child Tax Credit/ Baby Bonus Welfare/Ontario Works ODSP (Disability)

What is subsidized housing?
There are four types of subsidized housing. Co-operative housing Non-profit housing Public housing Rent supplements

Our opinion on what a responsible government does.
Helping poor families Helping community grow (Have sports teams for under poverty line families) Funding soup kitchens/shelters Opening affordable support systems Outreach programs More government funded houses Baby bonus/child tax credit should be continued even after child is over 18 if in school. Child Tax credit should have medical coverage included 24 hour shelters with a much higher capacity. Stacey’s Class
