2 Monarchy State or nation in which the supreme p ower is held by a monarch, or King or Queen There are different types of monarchies

3 Divine Right The idea that God created the monarchy and that the monarch acted as God’s representative on Earth. Absolute monarchs answered only to God, not to his or her subjects.

4 Spanish Golden Age During the 16th and 17th centuries, Spain experienced a golden age in the arts and became extremely wealthy because of its new American colonies

5 Tulip Mania Period in the Dutch Golden Age during which prices for some bulbs of the recently introduced and fashionable tulip reached extraordinarily high levels and then dramatically collapsed in February 1637. For four years, people took out loans and spent all savings on tulip bulbs. When the bulbs lost value, many Dutch families were left with nothing.
