Plant Deficiencies N, P, K,Fe, Mg

Nitrogen deficiency Nitrogen deficiency causes yellowing of the lower leaves of plants. It also affects leaf size. Leaves will get small if the deficiency is not corrected.

Phosphorus deficiency
Phosphorus is mobile with in the plant, but not the soil. Lower leaves will begin to turn purple if a “P” deficiency occurs.

Potassium deficiency A deficiency in Potassium will result in necrotic spots on the leaves or along the leaf margins.

Iron Deficiency Iron deficiency occurs in the new growth. This element is immobile within the plant. When a plant lacks iron, the new growth will show the deficiency. Interveinal chlorosis (yellowing between the veins) is the primary symptom.

Magnesium deficiency Magnesium deficiency is similar to iron deficiency except that magnesium is mobile. Symptoms will show on the older leaves first. In extreme cases, yellowing will appear as an inverted “v” on the leaf.
