Sharing Of Intimate Photos
-Students are sending nude photos of themselves to each other; -Regardless of their age, people dating should not be sending nude photos of themselves to others; -When they break up, these photos are often used to harass and demean them; -If under 18 years old, this is child pornography; -Child pornography and harassment is criminal.

Cyberbullying -Gossiping and harassment are forms of Cyberbullying;
-Cyberbullying can be done via text messages, , posts, blogs, tweets, hacking, and sending other people’s photos; -Surveys have shown that youth think online bullying is easier to get away with and hide from their parents.

Online Perception -Potential employers look at what people post online. -Do people want to be perceived negatively? -Do people want to be perceived positively?

Help Tools -Communicate with your kids so you earn their trust and they know they can talk to you. -“Spiders” – -Reporting Tools (Handout).

How To Surf Safely -Do not “friend” anyone you do not know!
-If a student ever gets involved in an online chat that makes them feel uncomfortable or in danger, they need to exit and tell a parent or other trusted adult; -Students need to tell their parents about anything inappropriate they find online; -Do not give out personal information; -Say “no” and not do something you don’t agree with or feel comfortable with.

Positive Things You Can Do On The Internet
-Fundraising; -School website; -School research; -Connect with actual friends; -Create family photo albums; -Learning a new skill or language.
