2. Safe Routes to School Grant
Grant provided by the city of Detroit that ensures that every child can walk to school safely
Board up abandoned houses
Mow empty fields
Fix broken sidewalks

3. What is a walking school bus?
A school bus that is run by Hope of Detroit staff
There are bus stops that are people
And the actual bus is made up of a driver, student walker, and the bus stops
Students can be dropped off at any stop and will be walked to school
For parents driving their studnets to school bus you can drop your student off at bus stop 5

5. How the bus works Elementary
Doors to school open at 745
Bus stops will be at posts at 7:20 am
Parents can drop their child at any stop from 7: am
Driver starts walking at 7:30 from 28th
As the driver passes each stop the students at the stop will hop on the bus behind driver and the staff member at the stop will become the caboose sandwiching the students in safety
Driver will continue all the way to Campbell st
The stop at Wesson walks their students at 7:30am to meet the driver at Campbell at 7:40 am
Students arrive at the school at enter the front door

6. How the bus works High school
Doors to school open at 725
Bus stops will be at posts at 7:00 am
Parents can drop their child at any stop from 7:00-7:10 am
Driver starts walking at 7:10 am from 28th
As the driver passes each stop the students at the stop will hop on the bus behind driver and the staff member at the stop will become the caboose sandwiching the students in safety
Driver will continue all the way to Campbell st
The stop at Wesson walks their students at 7:15 am to meet the driver at Campbell at 7:20 am
Students arrive at the school at enter the front door

7. Bus stops: How they work
Students can be dropped off at any stop on the route
In order to get a ticket they need to sign in
E very student that signs in is entered in the prize raffle
If you drive your student to school you can drop them off on 28th street to stop 5. park on south side of Buchanan.
