A description of the programme or policy
The Ministry of General Education (MOGE) launched the revised HIV & AIDS Wellness Policy in 2015 with the strategic plan and Implementation guidelines. These documents are meant to mitigate the impact of HIV & AIDS among leaners, teaching and non-teaching staff. Linked to the Zambian Educational goals

Achievements Orientation at various levels of the Ministry.
Formulation of workplace committees Creation of clear referral systems Budget provision at all levels Report back system Indicators on HIV & AIDS have been incorporated in the Standards & Evaluation guidelines

Challenges Pockets of stigma still exists
Though data on HIV & AIDS is captured in the Annual School census tool, it is not included in the educational statistical bulletin.

Opportunities/Emerging Issues
Policy is place & distributed. Orientation among staff. Strong linkages with other line ministries & stakeholders. Care & support available

Key Lessons Learnt Creation of peer groups and appointment of matrons as oversees Effective delivery goes with orientation and advocacy
