Introduction MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) is a fast packet based - forwarding and scalable technology, which is widely used in the core network. It comprises of three stages of operation: IP – MPLS (LER ingress), MPLS – MPLS (LSRs), and MPLS – IP (LER egress) UKSim 2018 Conference bradford.ac.uk 3
4
Mobile and Wireless application services form the basis for the success of the technology in the next generation of networks. Management of the bandwidth has emerged as a powerful platform for controlling the traffic volume of future mobile and wireless networks. UKSim 2018 Conference bradford.ac.uk 4
5
Aim and Objectives Aim to study the performance of multimedia services in MPLS Network model using a simulation approach. This will eventually proffer a solution to the bandwidth issues of the next generation of Mobile Wireless networks. To perform the evaluation of Label Distribution Protocol signaling with dynamic Label Switch Paths and Bandwidth Allocation in MPLS Network model. Performance analysis of the MPLS model with control and fast forwarding technique will be required to minimize packet loss and packet delay along switching process. Motivation Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) has made remarkable progress over last few years. It encompasses a wide range of functionalities and applications in its implementation. UKSim 2018 Conference bradford.ac.uk 6

Two Signaling Protocols
LDP can signal three types of transport Label Switched Paths (LSPs): MP2P P2MP MP2MP RSVP-TE builds two types of LSPs: P2P UKSim 2018 Conference bradford.ac.uk 7

Label Distribution Protocol (LDP)
In order for MPLS to operate correctly, label distribution information needs to be: Transmitted reliably Transmitted in sequence UKSim 2018 Conference bradford.ac.uk 8

Bandwidth Estimation & Allocation
Analysis Mj (s) is the properties of the log-moment generating function. is the bandwidth requirement of the i connection of type j . Also, it represents an independent random variable. is the estimated bandwidth of a source of class type. UKSim 2018 Conference bradford.ac.uk 12
