2. Guidelines
Photograph should be of passport size – Focus on face and covering till shoulders
Photograph should have a clear, plain and non-distracting background
Only Jpeg or Jpg format allowed
Photograph size should be less then 500KB
Photograph dimension should be width < 300 pixels and Height < 600 pixels 2

3. When can it be rejected…
Outdoor photo with sceneries in background
Group photographs
Any cartoon/ celebrity photographs
Full length photographs / photographs going below shoulders 3

4. Steps to correct Dimensions and file type
Scan your photo with Height at 1.77” and Width at 1.33”
If you already have a photo which does not match upload Dimension criteria then what you have to do is:
Open the Photo in Microsoft Office Picture Manager
Go to Picture Menu  Resize
Resize window will open in the right hand side corner
Select Custom width x height:
For example Enter width as 250 and height as 550
Enter OK
Check the Dimension of the Photo it should be width <300 and Height <600
Save the Photo.
If your photo does not match File Type criteria
Go to file  Save as and select JPG or JPEG as the file type. 4
