Team Agenda Located on team teachers’ web pages and or Remind
Click on teachers’ links to see what your child did in class and what he/she has for homework. Get an early start on quizzes, tests, projects, etc. Have your child show you the work--if it’s listed on the HW portion of the agenda, your child should have the assignment.

Only YOU Can Prevent Late Work
** 20% deduction per late assignment % = 80, BUT % = 68 This is a behavior issue, not a comprehension problem. ZAP -- Zeroes Aren’t Permitted -- academic detention Fridays for those who are “missing” assignments (20% deduction)

Absences Students have one day for each day missed; must still keep up with current assignments If ill for more than 3 days, call counseling office to gather work for you Work from unexcused absences is the same as late work -- 20% deduction (NEISD policy) School policy prohibits giving out work ahead of time for absences. Please call the attendance office as soon as you know your child will not be at school; as a courtesy send us an too.

Team Auction 2 auctions -- fall and spring
Students earn Bush Bucks throughout each semester Spend money on auction items they bring December 15 (Piper Bass)

Communication is Key to Success!
We like being in the “learning zone;” therefore, please give us a 24 hour window to respond. Sign up to get text messages from Remind Make sure the school has a working address (team information is sent through Parent Portal)

Parent Portal Sign up for a free account at NEISD
Gives you a window to our gradebook (prog. reports are 1 week old by the time they are sent home) Access lunch accounts, library, STAAR results, immunizations, etc. Set a grade and average alert (below ??) by clicking on mail icon to the left of each class; check “msg” box and click which (s) to send alerts Share grade alert information with your child -- have a mutual discussion about expectations and consequences/rewards (if any) Can change internet permisssion settings (buff card info)

Tips to Help Your Child Succeed!
Ask them to be proactive and advocate for themselves Attend morning/after school centers to get additional help Place a grade alert in Parent Portal & check “msg”box Every student has access to Parent Portal Create a community HW/study area where you can supervise/help your child study Ask open-ended questions about their day (25 Ways to ask your child “How was school today?”
