The church was raptured (which means snatched away). John is symbolic of the church.
Rev. 4:2-3a – They refer to the breastplate worn by the high priest. It had 12 precious stones representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

4. 1 Timothy 2:5 – The Lord Jesus Christ
Revelation 5:5-6:1 – The Lamb that was slain, Jesus Christ

5. Revelation 6:8 – Death. Power was given to the rider to kill one-fourth of the population of the world. This is a picture of the lawlessness after God’s Spirit is gone.

6. Revelation 6:15-17 – They “hid themselves” in caves and “in the rocks of mountains” and wished to die.
