Testing & Inspecting QC starts with submittals
Materials and Equipment must be inspected as they are delivered to site Compared to appropriate PO and submittals Immediately reject if not to specs Inspect materials on site to check for weather damage Mock ups Establish workmanship standards Preparatory inspection – ensure all preliminary work done on site

Initial inspection at start of work
Looking for workmanship and dimensional requirements met Daily follow-up to ensure compliance F17-3 Must make sure all inspections complete before work is covered Work covered without approval is uncovered at contractor’s expense If additional work is uncovered per A/E request – if work ok change order written for cost to contractor

Independent testing and inspection
Required for Concrete, roofing, fireproofing, shoring systems, glazing & window walls, soil compaction, post tension cables, structural fab , erection welds, field bolt torques, reinforcing steel, underground utilities Reports from testing companies go to QC inspectors

Prefinal Inspection Conducted by super, owner’s rep, designer rep
Deficiencies are noted on a punch list Punch list should be small if qc has worked Once punch list done PM orders final inspection Provides final check off of punch list
