What’s the Process? POA and City will do courtesy dock and seawall inspections in August. Lowered with 2 existing 30” gate valves. Start process on 11/7/ Down by 12/01/2018. Staff stationed along Tanyard Creek when gates are opened. Goal is 3” per day and 6’ overall. Recommended by regulatory agencies. Precipitation and groundwater can influence. Allowed to refill beginning on 03/01/2019.

What Will Be Affected? Boat Ramps will be closed.
Floating Docks will need to be moved to deeper water, or preparations made to safely rest on the lake bed. Boats will need to be pulled from the lake or preparations made so they can safely rest on the lake bed. Previously unknown obstacles will be a hazard. Water pumps will need to be removed to prevent freezing. Call your heating and air company if concerned about geothermal lines. Dilapidated docks may not support their own weight when the lake comes down. Rain events could bring water up quickly. Secure all equipment above normal water line.

How Will It Look?

Fish Habitat Improvement
Plant Rye on shallow exposed mud flats. Aids in nutrient cycling from the soil back to the water. Provides early fish habitat when lake returns to full pool. Hopefully better survival of early spawning fish (Crappie).

What Do I Do With My Boat? Boats will need to be pulled from the lake or preparations made so they can safely rest on the lake bed. Take precautions to keep lower units from freezing. Make sure boats are properly secured so they stay in place during changing water levels. Contact boat companies early to schedule work and storage. Boats CANNOT be anchored in open water.

What Accommodations Are Being Made?
Variance for storing boats at residence. Trailer boats and store on grassy area at Pontoon Park. Understand that you do this at your own risk. We recommend taking all loose items off boat. Leave floating docks and pontoons in place. Allow boats and docks to rest on tires. Pull tires out with a rope Beginning October 15 Lake Windsor Slip Leasees will be able to use unsold slips at the Loch Lomond Marina at no additional cost by going through Membership Services.
