The Dragon Curve (Jurassic Park Fractal) Kelsey Jones
The dragon curve is a fractal that starts as a right angle, the two segments of which are each replaced by another right angle segment, rotated by 45 degrees. How this is accomplished in MATLAB: Define starting points P1, P2, and P3 Draw lines P1-P2 & P2-P3 Calculate new points P12 and P23 Loop so that new points are fed back into function (and lines P1-P12, P12-P2, P2-P23, & P23-P3 are subsequently drawn), etc. Images: Wikipedia Prepared for UC Berkeley course EPS 109 “Computer Simulations in Earth and Planetary Science”, fall 2008, Instructor: B.
