2. Discuss essay points and requirements The Assignment is worth 300 points. The points will be broken up as follows. 100 – Essay Due Wednesday 100 – Classwork 2/27/13-3/6/13 100 - Presentation (Debate) 3-6-13 Requirements Formal Language 4 Transitional words/phrases 6 paragraphs (some additional things may be added) (see requirements for the hero essay)

3. Discuss Rubric from yesterday Each Part from the Persuasive Writing Assessment will be worth at least ten percent. When your rough draft has been finalized, look at the Evaluating and Revising handout to make sure that you have complete everything.

4. Topics have been finalized and will be posted tomorrow

5. Students will spend the rest of the class period formulating ideas. Students will be placed into groups based on their topics. The purpose is so that students are able to brainstorm and develop topics that are not repetitive. What do I mean by repetitive? If Jonathan and Casey both have the topic, Physical education should be mandatory in schools, then they should have eight different reasons why. The reasons should not repeat!
