Battles of Lexington and Concord (1775) -1st battles of the Revolution Battle of Bunker Hill (1775) – showed the British the colonists were willing to fight for Independence Battles of Trenton and Princeton ( ) – Surprise attack on Hessians. Gave colonists the will to continue.

Battle of Saratoga (1777) – major turning point of war. France enters on the side of the patriots. Battle of Guilford Courthouse (1781) – a ferocious battle that weakened Cornwallis’s army. Considered last major battle of the War. Battle of Yorktown (1781) – Cornwallis surrenders. Last battle of War. Treaty of Paris (1783) – treaty that ended the Revolutionary war.
