TODAY ‘Spirit-filled living’ (Ephesians 5:15-21) “… let the Holy Spirit fill and control you” (Eph 5:18 NLT)

Replace falsehood with truth (v. 25)
Replace anger with self-control (v. 26) Replace stealing with giving (v. 28) Replace evil talk with edifying talk (v. 29) Replace bitterness with forgiveness (v. 30) Replace impurity with thanksgiving (5:3-5) verse 15: “Be careful, then, how you live…” Verse 16 “to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” “measuring up to the full stature of Christ” (NLT)

A final command: replace foolish living with Spirit-filled living. “Be filled …” is not just another command, it is the key to all the others

A New Control A contrast between two controlling influences!
Living under the Spirit’s control outcomes! vs “Be careful, then, how you live – not as unwise, but as wise … do not be foolish … do not get drunk … but be filled …”

A New Command (‘let the Spirit fill you’)
A whole new principle of living! l. It is an imperative ll. It is passive (‘let the Spirit fill you’) lll. It is in the present tense (‘go on being filled…’)
