BOARD MEETING 29 March 2018 Chief Executive’s Report Nicola Lees, Chief Executive
Purpose of this Report: To update Board members on national, regional and local issues, announcements relating to mental health, learning disability and community health services, and Chief Executive level discussions within the local health economy. Recommendations That the Board: Notes the content of the Chief Executive’s report Previous meetings/committees where the report has been considered: Executive Management Team Risk issues identified for discussion: Board members will want to identify any risks emerging from the content of the paper, and how new issues and challenges across the NHS might affect BDCFT. Any emerging issues may be taken forward through individual discussions with Directors outside Board meetings or suggesting a future paper to the Board or its Committees. Links to Strategic Drivers This report underpins all four of the strategic drivers. Publication under Freedom of Information Act: This paper has been made available under the FOI Act. Trust News Local News National News West Yorkshire Mental health Services Collaboration Mental Health trusts from across West Yorkshire have agreed to work together to consider how to improve mental health service provision across the area. In support of this, a Memorandum of Understanding has been developed outlining how the different trusts will work together. The Board will consider the content of this during the Private March Board meeting and an update will also be provided at the April Public Board meeting.” Good news for the Falls Prevention Team for their Leading Change, Adding Value case study submission to be featured on the LCAV website. The Trust outlined its new strategy for its children’s services for 2018/19 at the Board meeting held on 22 February . Social media engagement is high this month, particularly on Facebook where we have a large staff following. Posts to engage and thank staff for their commitment throughout the adverse weather conditions on Facebook have received high engagement levels with many staff ‘tagging’ and thanking their team members for their help and support. We have also received high engagement levels on social media when announcing the nominees for this year’s ‘You’re a Star Awards.’ Media coverage this month includes an interview on BCB radio with Lisa Stead in support of Children’s Mental Health Week, coverage of this also appeared in the Asian Sunday as well as Tim Rycroft’s new appointment in Digital Health. The bounce rate is slightly over our target of 62 per cent.
