What is Green Light? A guide for audit & improvement of Mental Health services to promote equal access and effective treatment for people with Learning Disabilities & people with Autism Reissued by NDTI – National Development Team for Inclusion – in 2013 Audit criteria cover various areas including:- Service criteria & access Physical health needs Assessment processes Staff knowledge & values Reasonable adjustments

CQUIN – Commissioning for Quality & Innovation
System introduced by NHS England in to set national & local goals for healthcare providers to demonstrate improvements in quality, practice & outcomes in specific areas of patient care ELFT in Bedfordshire have 2 year CQUIN to support Mental Health services to implement principles of Green Light for people with Learning Disabilities and people with Autism This CQUIN project is being coordinated by Services for People With a Learning Disability

Green Light CQUIN CQUIN runs from April 2017 – March 2019
There is requirement to provide evidence of progress against specific targets for each quarter (three month period) Key areas for Year One Action Plan include:- Q.2: Allocation of clinicians for particular work streams Q.2: Developing training package regarding Learning Disability & Autism Q.2: Developing Resource Pack of useful information for Mental Health staff Q.3: Developing accessible/easy-read literature for mental health conditions & medications Q.3: Develop data collection systems so numbers or people with Learning Disability and Autism using Mental Health services is known Q.4: Delivery of training workshops to Mental Health staff in community & inpatient settings (target 75% of workforce) Q.4: Establish link workers for each Mental Health team & peer support networks

How Can People Get Involved?
Year 1 of the CQUIN is laying the foundations. As part of the action plan, we need to identify a clear pathway for people through mental health services for those people who have a learning disability and\or autism. We would welcome service user views to help draw up this pathway. Year 2 of the CQUIN incorporates a Service User Survey, requesting feedback from those identified as currently using services. We would also value any feedback from people who have used services in the past, so we can create an action plan. Contacts: or
