Our Class Students are expected to quietly enter the room, pick-up handouts on the table and write the daily assignments in their planners. Students should be in their seats when the bell rings or they will be marked tardy. Students must use the restroom and get a drink before class begins unless it is an emergency.
12
Our Class Students must remain in their assigned seats and should raise their hands for permission to get out of their seat. Assignments are written on the daily assignment board and the Month at A Glance posters. Most assignments are posted on the class website, as well.
13
Grading Procedures Detailed guidelines may be found on the school website. 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th blocks are PreAP classes and have a 30/70% formative/summative guideline. 7th/8th is an on-level class and has a 40/60% formative/summative. guideline.
14
Grading Procedures Students are expected to read daily.
Students should practice their roots and affixes daily each quarter. Incomplete work becomes homework and should be returned the next day. This class does not have a great deal of extra homework. Most assignments may be completed in class.
15
Grading Procedures Major (summative) tests are spread out throughout each quarter and the District Common Assessment (DCA) is given the last week of each quarter. Usually, there are 3-4 major grades each quarter. This class will have daily grades each quarter.
16
Grading Procedures A blank in my gradebook means I have not graded the assignment. I try to enter assignments when I assign them as another check-point for assignment due dates. A zero means I have not received the student’s assignment.
