2. Assignment One!
On the map on your organizer, put stripes on the countries controlled Portugal during colonization. Then, put polka dots on the countries controlled by Spain. Do this in a darker color (you’ll be color over it lightly later, but we want to still be able to see it!)
Use this map to guide you!

3. Assignment two!
Using the information you learned from the previous map, make a hypothesis about what language the countries shaded green speak. What about the country shaded yellow?

4. Assignment two!
If you said green spoke Spanish and yellow speaks Portuguese, you are right!
On your map, choose two colors! Color all the Spanish speaking nations one color. Choose a different color for the nation that speaks Portuguese! Make sure to create a map key!
