1. aghast- (adjective) struck with fear 2. exploits - (noun) a bold or daring feat; the act of manipulating to one’s advantage 3. aimlessly- (adverb) lacking goal or purpose 4. veer-(verb)to change direction suddenly 5. agony- (noun) extreme suffering either mentally or physically 6. stupor- (noun) reduced awareness or consciousness 7. triumph- (noun) success after a struggle.

8. bewilder- verb- to confuse or puzzle somebody 9. editorial- noun- an article in a newspaper or magazine that expresses the opinion of its editor or publisher 10. liable- adj.- having legal responsibility; or likely to experience or do something 11. gerund- a verb that ends in –ing and acts as a noun (Example: Painting a landscape requires careful observation.) 12. gerund phrase- a gerund with its modifiers and complements- things that help describe and add detail. (Example: I love painting with watercolors.)
