7 Changing relations between Cuba and EE.UU.
In December 2014, President Obama and Raúl Castro announced that they were restoring diplomatic ties between the U.S. and Cuba. Then in July of 2015, the embassies of the two countries re-opened. In March of 2016, American groups were permitted to visit Cuba with “people-to-people” educational purposes. Policies have recently changed under President Trump… White House implements new Cuba policy restricting travel and trade

8 La salsa originated in Cuba
The roots of salsa originated in Eastern Cuba (Santiago de Cuba, Guantanamo) from the Cuban Son (about 1920) and Afro-Cuban dance (like Afro-Cuban rumba). 9 Diana Nyad - long-distance swimmer
American Diana Nyad was the first person to complete the swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage. At age 64, she completed the treacherous 111-mile swim in 2013. Video
