The Reconquista took hundreds of years to complete, and many Christian forces from throughout Spain came to help with the fight Once the final Muslim province of Granada fell, Spain was united under one religion

In order to continue uniting Spain under one religion, they took over the Spanish Inquisition Spanish Inquisition: those who believed in religions other than Catholicism (such as Judaism and Islam) were put on trial. Those who were not Catholic had two choices—convert or be exiled. Some decided to leave Spain, some simply pretended to convert "Prisoner of the Spanish Inquisition."
