Overall findings… WWW:
Good attempts at introductions, you are clearly listening to advice! Most answers were balanced EBI: A lot of people did not have a clear understanding of ‘international prestige’. This lead to subsequent issues of what foreign policy is international prestige, and what foreign policy comes under a different motive. Not covering Henry VII’s entire reign (particularly the end half!) Not focusing your answer on ‘motive for foreign policy’ – a lot of you focused on the ‘outcome of his foreign policy’
5
International Prestige
TASK 1: With the person at the side of you, compare you definitions of ‘international prestige’. TASK 2: On a whiteboard, based on your discussion previously, write a new definition of international prestige. In the context of this question, international prestige is Henry VII gaining recognition and respect from other European leaders, arising from achievements or success.

Avoid Foreign Entanglement Security against Pretenders Each table will be given a motive behind Henry’s foreign policy. Number 1: You will using your notes and the textbook to find detail about each of the examples you can use as evidence for that motive. Number 2: List detail you could use to support the motive being important, then the evidence from strongest example to weakest supporting example. Number 3: You will deciding, and justifying whether it is the most important motive behind HVII’s foreign policy. Number 4: You will make and explain links between your motive, and other motives behind Henry VII’s foreign policy. Use Kagan to delegate out the roles.

America Sources Feedback
10
Overall findings… WWW: Most people discussed Provenance and Argument
Most people linked their paragraphs to value EBI: Not enough understanding of the sources, particular Henry Clay Not enough own knowledge in your answers Not enough written – a lot of people had 1 argument or missed out tone

Source Grids A lot of you have said that you liked the America source grids we have used in previous lessons. We are therefore going to use them today, but instead of me giving your all of the answers, you are going to fill in the blank boxes yourselves. Each table will be given one of the sources to look at, and I will circulate to help you fill in the boxes. You will be presenting what you have found back to the class for them to write in their sheets.
