1821- Legislature passed act to establish academy in Blountsville 1890- Blount College opened 1892-The 1st degrees were conferred on June 7 1895- Blount College was destroyed by fire. th District Agricultural School was completed th District Agricultural School was burned down. 1919- Blountsville State Secondary Agricultural High School opened

Important Dates Continued
1927- Legislation passed a bill creating a demonstration farm in connection with the State Second Agricultural School; a farm of 120 acres now known as King’s Farm was purchased and converted into a modern demo farm. 1938- Blountsville State Secondary Agricultural High school again burned. 1939- Pennington High School (Old Building) 1990- Pennington High School burned once again. 1990- The new Pennington High School building was opened.
