Drop-off and Pick-up *Please sign your child in every morning. Help your child put their belongings in their cubby and encourage them to find a friend to play with. Miss Jody and Miss Mary will be here to help. Please know that your child may cry at the beginning of the school year when you leave-This is normal! Your child will transition better if you leave quickly instead of hanging around to watch. I will contact you if I feel your child is struggling to adjust. *Pick –up: You will need to sign your child out when he/she is picked up. We have different assistants in the afternoon so they may ask to see your driver’s license. Please make sure that we have a complete list of who may pick up your child and let those people know to bring in their driver’s license as well. This is for your child’s safety!

Breakfast and Lunch *School Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:00 a.m. Your child may bring breakfast from home. Breakfast is eaten in our classroom. *Lunch is served at 10:50 a.m. in the cafeteria. Your child may buy a school lunch or milk, or bring their lunch from home. You may eat lunch with your child, but we ask that you do not begin doing this until September to allow us time to get our routine established. *Julie Buckner is our cafeteria manager. She is here this evening to help you get your child’s cafeteria account set up. You may add money to your child’s account online or by bringing in a check. *There will be several days throughout the year where LQA is in session, but the rest of the school district is not. Our first day of school, August 1, is one of those days. Your child will have to bring a home lunch on those days.

SNACK *We have snack twice daily-at 9:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. Children who stay until 4:45 or later will have an extra snack. *We try to have nutritious snacks to keep your child going for our busy day. *If you see sticky notes on the “Welcome” pole that means we are in need of snacks. Please take a sticky note with the name of a snack on it and bring in that snack within a week! Thank you! *Birthdays! We know that birthdays are a BIG deal to preschoolers, so IF you would like to bring a special snack for your child’s birthday you may. It MUST be store bought and we would rather you NOT bring in cupcakes.

Star of the Week Each student will have the opportunity to be “Star of the Week.” All of the information and the schedule is in your packet.

Discipline * We will use the stop-light system for behavior management. Each student will begin the day on green and may be moved to yellow or red depending on his/her behavior. * If your child moves his/her card to yellow or red he/she will have the opportunity to move the card back to green with better choices. * We will ask your child to tell you about the his/her behavior at pick-up. This helps reinforce your child taking ownership of the behavior.
11
Winter Please watch the news during winter weather. If PCSC is closed, LQA will be closed as well. If PCSC has a 2 hour delay, LQA will open as usual.
