Photosynthesis Homework
Photosynthesis is a process where plants use light from the sun to convert carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil into sugar to feed the plant and oxygen is given out in the air.
5
Reproduction is the process of generating offspring.
6
Two ways to reproduce:
7
Examples Asexual Sexual
All prokaryotic organisms (bacteria and archaea) Some plants Teeny tiny animals, like hydra Most animals Most plants
8
Determining genotypes of the offspring: PUNNET SQUARES!
9
Dominant alleles Will produce a dominant phenotype ( end look) even if it is with a recessive allele. They are represented by CAPITAL letters in a Punnet square.
10
Recessive alleles Will produce recessive phenotypes only when both alleles are recessive. They are represented by lowercase letters in a Punnet square.
11
Solving a Punnet square:
1. draw the grid 2. put each parent’s set of alleles on a side of the grid ( top or left) 3. in each grid square put the aligning allele from each parent 4. determine the genotype and phenotype of each offspring based on their new alleles

Review your packet Are all of pages 1-13 complete?
Are all of your words highlighted on the vocab pages we have covered so far? Are diagrams labeled and colored? Is your flower stapled onto your packet? STUDY TIP!!! With any extra time study your completed pages by coloring in diagrams and highlighting labels.
