1 PRINTING PROBLEMS ? Most common issues:
No Credit – best to check before you send a print Sending your print to the wrong printer Not Entering the correct paper size Altering other printer settings than just the paper size File type: We are recommending PDF for all standard paper sizes where scale is important, for example an A1 building plan. JPEG files are best for images & graphics if accurate scaling is not required and for large banner custom paper sizes. JPEG has the advantage of lower file sizes and can be useful for printing banners where problems are encountered with the file sizes produced by PDF files. However, we have found that Windows PhotoViewer used for printing JPEG files is quite poor at sizing correctly, so recommend ensuring the mm size of the banner is set to the actual paper size before printing and used, rather than just relying of the ‘print to fit’ option. (e.g x 841) This can be done in Photoshop. FILE SIZE: Excessive file size – dpi is recommended. No more than 200dpi. ‘Flatten’ layers before sending a file to print if using PDF. Alternatively use a JPEG file. Avoid sending multiple drawings to print at once, say from a combined PDF file. This will increase memory size and may lead to problems Avoid ‘scale to fit’ options. It can dramatically increase file size. Size your print correctly before printing. In general avoid attempting to print directly from an application/programme. Publisher is probably the worst programme to try to print directly from. Autocad is one of the few packages that usually prints fine directly. If you encounter a problem, please do not keep sending files to the printer, ask a staff member for help. Refund is only possible for printer/network errors, not user errors
