3 Executive Power The power of the executive branch is invested in the president of the United States. The President is our Head of State and Commander in Chief. The Vice President is also part of the Executive branch. Next in line for the presidency.

The President The Vice President The Presidents Cabinet the Cabinet's role is to advise the President on any subject he may require relating to the duties of each member's respective office

Other Executive Agencies (CIA, EPA, FBI) 50+ independent Federal Commission agencies. The Executive Office of the President (EOP). Immediate staff to the president. Components of the Executive Branch

6 The power to either sign or veto bills passed by congress.
Congress can override his veto with a 2/3rds vote Conducts diplomacy with other nations Negotiates and signs treaties Congress must ratify the treaty Issue Executive orders. Extend pardons. Presidential Power? President’s Power

US presidents can serve up to 2 terms. Each term is 4 years. FDR is the only president that has ever served more than two terms. After his death they passed the 22nd Ammendment. Franklin Delano Roosevelt

The president represents the nation and performs many ceremonial roles. Serving as host to visiting kings, queens, and heads of governments, the president is the nations Chief Diplomat. The president sees that the laws of Congress are carried out. Chief Executive. President’s Jobs

11 The White House The president and his family live in the White House in Washington DC. When the President Travels by plane his aircraft is Air Force One. When the President travels on ground he is in the armored Presidential Limousine.
