Models for the Transcriptional Regulatory Network in Human and Mouse ESCs
(A) In hESCs, FOXO1 directly upregulates OCT4 and SOX2 expression.
(B) Foxo1 and Foxo3 are implicated in the maintenance of the mESC state. Comprehensive determination of the FoxOs' target genes in ESCs would enable a global understanding of their integration into the pluripotency network, as well as provide new insights into species-specific circuitries.
