Along with reading novels, students will read
poetry, short stories and non fiction.

3. Writing In this class students can expect to write the following:
Imaginative Stories
Personal Narrative through This I Believe format
Persuasive Essay
Do the Write Thing
Other Expository pieces
Google Docs – I will be asking that any typed writing pieces be done on Google Docs. This will ensure that the document is not erased, lost, or forgotten.
Students have created a “Writing Portfolio” in their Google Drive to house all of their typed pieces this year.
Writer’s Notebooks – All students have a Writer’s Notebook that they will keep in class. We will use this for warm-up activities, short writing pieces, vocabulary and a place to house writing technique information.
