Equinix’s primary exchange model is a “dark fiber” exchange--private cross connects are the primary method for participants to trade traffic. ASX-4000 with OC3 and OC12 ports; OC48 possible, but higher speeds mostly dark fiber; lower speeds mostly direct copper.
