4. Family, Friends & Business Associates – Please understand that this is not a mass , and I have hand-picked individuals to receive this that I believe truly care. We have all been blessed with access to a great education and fantastic careers….I’m asking that you help Convergint make a difference in someone else’s life by doing something that matters… You might be surprised to know that only 6% of Chicago public high school freshmen will receive a Bachelor’s degree by age 25. Convergint Technologies supports a non-profit program through Companies That Care called “AIM High” that is committed to improving this disheartening situation. AIM High aligns companies (like Convergint) with individual, minority, urban high school students to ensure they graduate from college and are prepared for tomorrow’s workplace. Multiple teams of Convergint colleagues mentor four Chicago high school students, and we’re optimistic all of these kids will be attending college in near future. Our four students, along with hundreds of others, will be participating in a 5K “March to College” on April 4, 2012 in Grant Park. The purpose of the “March to College” is to raise money for this important program, and I’m asking for your support. Team Convergint is looking to raise $10,000 for this incredible organization. Do paying runners/walkers count toward $1000 goal? YES
Does a MARCH TO COLLEGE sponsorship count toward goal? YES
Are the students expected to fundraise? Students have a goal of 20; that can be participants and donors combined. They have each made a list of their 20 and should be doing their outreach. Good topic for conversation with them.
If my company is an AIM High sponsor, do we still need to participate? AS A SPONSOR, YOUR STUDENT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE THE $100 SHOPPING SPREE. BUT THE ANSWER IS YES, IT IS OUR HOPE THAT YOU WILL WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM TO RAISE FUNDS AND ENGAGE YOUR STUDENT IN THIS IMPORTANT SKILL THEY WILL USE IN COLLEGE AND BEYOND
Is this a timed race? NO THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIALLY TIMED RACE BUT THERE WILL BE A CLOCK THERE SO THAT EACH RUNNER CAN CHECK HIS/HER TIME

Can we bring our pets? YES, RUNNERS WITH DOGS WOULD START AFTER THE SOLO RUNNERS AND WALKERS SO THAT PEOPLE WERE NOT TRIPPING OVER DOGS AND LEASHES.
How young a child is too young? NO AGE IS TOO YOUNG. Will they get a t-shirt? EVERY REGISTERED PARTICIPANT WILL RECEIVE A SHIRT BUT THE SMALLEST SIZE IS YOUTH M.
