Wales is a mountainous country on the western side of Great Britain.
It is bordered by England to the east, the Bristol Channel to the south, St George's Channel in the west and the Irish Sea to the north.

The most important cities
Cardiff is the largest city and also the capital of Wales. Other important cities in Wales are Newport and Swansea in the south and Wrexham to the north of the country.

Snowdon It is located in Snowdonia National Park and it’s the highest peack in Wales at an elevation of 1085m. Its rocks were produced by volcanos during the Ordivician period. People in United Kindom come here to do rock climbing. There is the only public rack and pinion railway in the UK called Snowdon Mountain Railway

Water resources The largest lake is Bala. It is 4 miles (6.4 km) long by 1 mile (1.6 km) wide. The River Dee runs through it and the waters of the lake are famously deep and clear. The longest river is Towy and has a length of 75 miles. From its source in the Cambrian Mountains, the Towy is first interrupted by the Lynne Brianne reservoir about 6 miles south of its source, but then flows through the beautiful Towy Forest.
