2. Meeting Prof. Colabufo
In the context of the Erasmus project, the children of 2nd class have invited Prof. Colabufo to speak about his life experience. Prof. Colabufo is a research scientist from the University of Bari who is committed in the study of Alzheimer syndrome and other neurological deseases. His academic and working career has reached very remarkable results. He is the father of two of the pupils attending his speech. This meeting has been organized with the purpose of enforcing the prevention of school absenteeism and incresing motivation to learn in children. The aim of this meeting has also been to let pupils understand that a continuous commitment in study is very important, in order to achieve valuable results in life. Prof. Colabufo has told the pupils his studying experience, from primary school to university. With a plain and clear language, he has also described the subject of his current studies. He also brought some instruments from his laboratory, that attracted pupils’ attention. They were fascinated by his words. They all were listening carefully to arguments that are complex for their age but that were explained in a clear way. Some children have taken notes on their notebooks while hearing prof. Colabufo's speech. Then they made a lot of questions to the professor. Most of these questions, all prepared by the pupils autonomously, were original and interesting. An important message from the professor has been understood by the pupils : it is very important to “train the brain” during all life time, in order to reduce the risk of brain deseases like Alzheimer. The best instrument to “train the brain”, prof. Colabufo said, is studying hard, at every age, with commitment but also with enjoyment.

3. Prof. Colabufo Biography
Nicola Antonio Colabufo is born in Bari on 17th July He is an associate Professor in Medicinal Chemistry. Nicola Antonio Colabufo received his PHD in Medicinal Chemistry in 1996 from University of Bari, Italy. After working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the synthesis of GPCRs ligands, he worked in biological evaluation of GPCRs and receptors ligands. Since 2005 he has been Associate Professor and was involved in the development of new compounds for reversal of MDR. He is author and coauthor of numerous papers in the MDR field, edited a text book on MDR in antitumor treatment (Research Sign Post),and was Guest Editor of a special issue on the role of ABC pumps in drug transport (CTMC). Currently, he is developing potential PET radiotracers to visualize P-gp expression and function in tumor progression and in CNS disorders. He is author of 150 papers and 8 patents. From 2017 he is full professor in medicinal chemistry at Bari University.
