Left- male house sparrow Right- male house finch
2
Left- tufted titmouse Right-black-capped chickadee
3
Top- black-capped chickadee
Middle- female cardinal Bottom- male cardinal
4
All 3- house sparrow- male on right, female left, middle can’t tell bc can’t see head
5
Left- gold finch (this is what it’s dull winter plumage typically looks like)
Middle- black-capped chickadee- could potentially be mistaken for a nuthatch but it’s hood is a much darker black, the little bit of beak you can see shows that it’s small, not spear-like, and it’s body is small and compact Right- tufted titmouse – the black spot above the beak and the crest is a dead giveaway
6
4 goldfinches (summer plumage)
Top right- hairy woodpecker- wider black shoulder patch than downy would have, significantly bigger than the goldfinches- downy would be closer Bottom- junco
7
Center- female house sparrow (no belly streaks so not house finch)
Behind- male house finch Bottom- two morning doves
8
Bonus Slide BONUS SLIDE- common redpoll (only one that’s not in the “sweet 16”)
