2 Learning Target I can use my iPad to stay organized as a student.
I know how to do essential functions like print and backup. Success Criteria: I can login to Google Drive I have installed the Google Calendar app I can print from my iPad I know how to backup my documents and pictures Today’s lesson includes a lot of step-by-step directions. It may be easy for students to get lost or confused along the way. Consider modeling the process with your iPad under the document camera so that students can see where/what you are pressing on the iPad as they follow along.

3 I lost my paper on the bus.
My dog ate it! My iPad crashed and I lost all my work. It was in my backpack earlier, I promise! Purpose: Today’s lesson will emphasize the benefits of using some of the digital tools for organization. Have students share out some of the reasons/excuses they have seen & heard for not completing schoolwork or turning it in to the teacher. Throughout the lesson, they will see how the iPad is a tool that can help prevent some of these. What are some common reasons you’ve seen for not turning in schoolwork?

4 IPads are a tool that can help you stay organized and turn in work electronically.
Brainstorm: What could be some of its benefits? No more lost papers! No more broken pencils or smudged & crumpled papers! All your work is automatically saved in one spot! You can set reminders to study or complete your assignments! Your teachers will know that you turned in your work on time!

5 In order to avoid this…

6 Save your work! Google Drive stores all of your documents, pictures and data in the cloud. ALWAYS save your work to G Drive. You have UNLIMITED storage. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides automatically save your work to G Drive. Let’s Login to Google Drive Now. Open Google Drive Enter your user name: Type your password: your 7 digit student id number with an extra 0 at the beginning. Example: Once you login the first time you won’t need to login again unless you log yourself out. Logging into Google Drive will automatically log you in to all G Suite applications Here you can reflect a student’s iPad onto the board and walk through the login steps. Be sure you provide students with their student ID number before hand.

7 Configure Google Drive to backup your photos…

8 Creating a Digital Planner
Use the Google calendar app to keep a digital record of your assignments, tests/quizzes, and upcoming events.
