4. PROTOCOL BETWEEN MIT AND TURKAK
APPOINTMENT OF TURKISH NB’s FOR PED AND SPVD
A Protocol between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and
Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) was signed on 18 April
2003 for the evaluation of THE competence of notified bodies to
be designated by the Ministry will be evaluated by TURKAK.
In accordance with the approval report of TURKAK, MIT decided
to designate:
Turkish Lloyd Foundation NB for PED and SPVD
Turkish Standardization NB for PED
Institute (TSI)

6. EU SUPPORTED PROJECTS FOR PE SECTOR
Turkey-EU Financial Cooperation Programming “Support to the Turkish Conformity Assessment Bodies and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Implementation of some New Approach Directives” Project.
Supply of Equipment for CABs operating in pressure equipment sector
Twining with Germany, United Kingdom and Austria for the implementation of several New Approach Directives including PE Sector

7. PRESSURE EQUIPMENT SECTOR IN TURKEY
Pressure Equipment Industry is represented by the
“Association of Boiler and Vessel Manufacturers”.
Total number of boiler and vessel producers in
Turkey is about Majority of them are small and
medium sized enterprises and 10 of them are already
exporting their products to the EU market.
